How many of you like your pet rats and think they are the best pets?

Have a friend who wants a pet rat - are they smelly? I think they are cute but he is worried about smells.
I love rats as pets, but they aren’t the best. Dogs, cats, horses and ferrets are better pets, imho.

i do like rats but i dont have one anymore but i do love them lots and lots well see ya
They are good pets. But one have to have also a good cage for them to close at night. Because they like to eat wires, etc. And may become intoxicated with soap, because its smells seems to be tasty for them too, then liver problems. But rats are really very intelligent and lovely animals.
I had a pet rat in High school who was an absolute sweetheart. He was trained as well as any dog and exceptionally clean. Probably the best pet I’ve ever had. BUT my husband is totally freaked out by them and won’t let me have any others.
I love rats, but sadly cannot have one due to they are illigal to own as pets where I live. I did have one though for a few months when living in another area. He was great. He did not smell, although I did clean his cage out three times a week. He was very tame, and a great pet.
Mice can also be good pets. I breed siamese mice. Awesome little critters.
mine are great but i bought a male and a female. you know the rest then i had to buy snakes to control the problem, but they only eat so much. then somebody told me to freeze them. then someone said do you want some rabbits to trade for your snakes and rats? now i have a zoo.
Yeah…I love them and I think people should do their best to protect them…Er…not only protect…we should adore them Coz’s they bring so much pleaure…I am behind you and admire your kindness to care them:)
I think if they white they good but i don’t sure try to pet a white rat but they are not best pets forever!

rats are soso soooo sweet! their little wuffling noses that come and sniff you out are lovely, and their lil hands when they take a treat from you!!!

I have four and I think they are the greatest pets in the world in my opinion, they are clean, smart, trainiable, sweet, have fairly easy and cheap upkeep and small. Here are pics of my babies, they have pics of my pet room and some of my other pets mixed in as well.?.dir=/a56b.src=ph
